Welcomes new advisors

As we mark our one-year anniversary, Beyond Conflict would like to announce the following board changes. The Board welcomes Gillian Dare OBE and Dr Kishan Manocha as our new trustees. Dr Saleh Dhumad, has stepped down from the Board and will remain on as an advisor. The Board welcomes our new trustees and also thanks Saleh for everything he has done and we wish him well as he turns to new projects.

Beyond Conflict also has appointed three new advisors. First, Professor Mohammed Al-Uzri is our specialist advisor on Iraq and mental health. Dr Sheik Ramzy, of the Oxford Islamic Information Centre and the Muslim Council of Britain, joins as advisor on humanitarian affairs. Lastly, Yang May Ooi joins as our podcasting advisor.

We warmly welcome all the new members of the team and look forward to working together to build the charity as it seeks to become operational on the ground in 2019.

On our new board members, Gillian is a retired diplomat, with nearly 20 years experience working in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. Throughout her Foreign Office career, she has specialised in political and security policies in conflict-affected and fragile counties, focusing on conflict resolution, peace building, governance, rule of law and building stability.

Kishan is a Senior Adviser on Freedom of Religion or Belief at the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. He was a practising psychiatrist for many years and has extensive experience dealing with religious freedom issues around the world. Kishan is a former Visiting Research Fellow at the Carr Centre for Human Rights at Harvard University and Fellow of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies.
