WHAT BEYOND CONFLICT STANDS FOR
Beyond Conflict’s work is not aligned to any political ideology, movement or government. Our work is not aligned to any religion. Our founding principle is to serve people of all faiths and none, wherever there is need. Our sole purpose is to work for humanity within the international framework of law that guides democracy and freedom.
As war escalates across the Middle East due to the attack on Iran by the US and Israel, violence, displacement and terror spreads. As always, civilians and the frontline workers who serve them are the true victims.
Now this regional conflict is spreading to the wider world, threatening the economic, food and energy security of people everywhere, including the poorest. The cost to humanity is grave.
We call for an end to the violence by both state and non-state actors who are seeking to escalate war each day, at the cost of ordinary lives. This violence gambles with the lives of all people in the region and around the world, and the future of children everywhere.
The mental health impact is devastating and will continue to be seen for years and decades to come. Beyond Conflict was formed on 3 January 2018 to deliver mental health support to victims of war and frontline workers. We believe there can be no lasting peace unless we address the psychological fallout of war. In eight years as a charity, we’ve helped thousands of people of all faiths through trusted and expert local partners across the world:
- Almost 4,000 children in Gaza.
- Hundreds of families and frontline workers in the Palestinian West Bank.
- Hundreds of Israeli victims of the attack on the Nova festival and its fallout.
- Ukrainian refugees in the UK, Europe and in Lviv, where we support disabled youngsters impacted by war.
- The Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh who fled the genocide in Myanmar in 2017/18, as well as frontline workers
- Widows and orphans in southern Iraq.
